FindMyMasjed.com – I guess the name says it all

It was a three days trip to the UK few months back which made me identify the problem and work on this site as solution for it. The day was Friday when me and my friend/partner “Ahmed” wanted to pray “Al Jumaa” prayer, but failed to locate a mosque using a laptop. We searched Google, but didn’t get enough information, so we went down walking around trying to locate a masjed via our mobile phones and we failed too; until finally we did the logical thing and stop a taxi and asked him to drive us to the nearest mosque.

With Allah by our side (Alhamdulilah), with dedication, a very small budget, and a great team all working the findmymasjed.com website was born.

By working and analyzing the project more, it was decided that it would be useful for our users to be part of our family and have the tools to share Mosques’ which are not located in our website. By sharing the mosques; you get to make as much “Hasanat” as everybody praying in them insha Allah.

A lot of nice features can be found on findmymasjed.com, like sharing a mosque location with your friends/family via facebook, twitter or email. And to make it easier for everyone; you can use your social credentials to login and add mosques without the need to register on the site.

Other features are on the way, including an iPhone/android/blackberry/nokia/WP7 apps and a Facebook Application insha Allah.

How do I share a mosque in your website?

It’s very simple, all you need to do is click on the share button under the zooming tool and login using the most convenient way. A pop-up window will show up with a map and some forms to fill-in.

What’s the difference between a public and private sharing?

A public sharing will let other users see your name when clicking on the mosque’s pin. A private sharing in the other hand with keep your name confidential.

How do I report a wrong mosque location?

Simply click on “Click Here To Report A Wrong Mosque” link when you view the mosque’s details. Every three reports will automatically remove the mosque from the map for it to get moderated.

How do I edit my mosque information after adding it?

This feature will be available in the next upgrade insha Allah.

How do I search for mosques in my home town, or other parts of the world?

You late mosques by using the top search form by placing the city name or location you would like to locate a mosque in. or simply use the coordinates if you know them and hit the search button to locate a specific mosque on the map.

Do you accept donations?

No donations are accepted; but if you insist; please ask Allah to forgive me, my parents and everybody around the world.
